sewrage problem

LIVING AMIDST SLUSH AND STINK
When nancy a resident came to this colony a few yrs ago little did she know that her surroundings will be swamped with sewerage overflow raising slush and stink.
South city a colony on the out skirts of ludhiana like any other private colony doesn’t have a proper underground sewrage system. The slush is emptied into the vacant plots or sometimes on the road nearby which makes it difficult to venture on that particular road The colony with roughly 200houses is such a colony where residents are facing the problem of over flowing sewer. A residents whose house faces the sewrage treatment plant are a harried lot they suffer most than the other residents who are not near the plant. Anil arora such a resident says” the stink is unbearable if we close the doors then also there is no respite from the stink Says he” the population has expanded in the last few yrs and the private sewer is not sufficient to cater to thousands of residents. Another resident who came here because of a peaceful unpolluted envionment away from industrial area ironically has to face this stink and slush..Another resident says” that yesterday there was such pungent smell that I thought I have left my cylinder on .They said we went to sarpanch manpreet singh and he assured that he will solve our problem.
When talked manpreet singh ayali the chairman of the welfare society and sarpanch of the village ayali said that “I will help the residents as they have helped me a lot in the election campaigning and my victory According to him “the sewarage problem will be solved with the main sewerage that is being laid near the pratap singh wala we will get a line that will cross through village ayali He assured that it will be done in the next 6 months The reliable sources from the The water and sewerage board who are taking up the work informed that the project is under the Hudco scheme and it is called the outfall sewrage the line has reached the village Ballowal till now. It will take 6 months to complete the project.
As the over flowing sewer is a health hazard so when talked to the CMO S.P Sharma he told that such an overflow is a health hazard which is a breeding ground for mosquitoes there can be outbreak of air and vector borne diseases
When contacted the colonizer through his mobile number his wife picked up the phone and said he is out of station and will be back by Monday. By Manmeetkaur email-id mmanmeetkaur@aol.com
